- Thursday night saw Kyle Beard return behind the wheel of his Late Model at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) for the 28th annual Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend. With 48 cars on hand for the event co-sanctioned by the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Kyle gained one spot in his heat race to finish fifth. Grabbing the third and final transfer spot in his B-Main, Beard locked into the 24th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature. Improving three spots in the 30-lap affair, Kyle recorded a 21st place outing.

For another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday evening, Beard dropped two spots in his heat race to record a seventh place finish. Needing a third place outing or better in his B-Main to make the A-Main, Kyle logged a ninth place finish. (Heath Lawson photo)

With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for Saturday night’s main event, Beard was 28th overall in preliminary points, sending him into the B-Main for one final shot at the $40,000-to-win Comp Cams Topless 100. - Friday night found Kyle Beard in action at Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.) competing in the Crate Late Model ranks for the Crate Racin’ USA-sanctioned King of the Hill. Drawing a stout field of 47 cars for the two-day event, Beard laid down the fifth fastest time in his group but mechanical issues surfaced as he was lining up for his heat. Transferring into the B-Main on Saturday night for another shot at the $7,500-to-win A-Main, Kyle fell short of a transfer position with a fifth place outing. With only the race-winner of the non-qualifier feature given the option to transfer to the main event or pocket $400, Beard came in second behind David Seibers.

- On Friday afternoon Kyle Beard visited Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) returning with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. In a field of 26 cars, Beard followed up the fourth fastest time in his group with a third place finish in his heat. Slated to start the opening night feature in seventh, Mother Nature made an appearance before the 40-lapper was able to get underway, postponing the finale to September 3rd.

At Legit Speedway Park (West Plains, Mo.) the following night for the Larry Phillips Memorial, Kyle came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish. Streaking to a 10-lap consolation victory, Beard locked into the 14th-starting position for the main event. With $5,075 on the line, Kyle passed six cars in the 40-lapper to place eighth.
