Ninth-place finish in Topless prelim at Batesville

Thursday night saw Kyle Beard return behind the wheel of his Late Model at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) for the 28th annual Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend. With 48 cars on hand for the event co-sanctioned by the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Kyle gained one spot in his heat race to finish fifth. Grabbing the third and final transfer spot in his B-Main, Beard locked into the 24th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature. Improving three spots in the 30-lap affair, Kyle recorded a 21st place outing.

With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for Saturday night’s main event, Beard was 28th overall in preliminary points, sending him into the B-Main for one final shot at the $40,000-to-win Comp Cams Topless 100. Locking in the Top 3, Kyle Beard recorded a fifth place outing.
