Beard pilots Crate Late Model at Thunderhill

Friday night found Kyle Beard in action at Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.) competing in the Crate Late Model ranks for the Crate Racin’ USA-sanctioned King of the Hill. Drawing a stout field of 47 cars for the two-day event, Beard laid down the fifth fastest time in his group but mechanical issues surfaced as he was lining up for his heat. Transferring into the B-Main on Saturday night for another shot at the $7,500-to-win A-Main, Kyle fell short of a transfer position with a fifth place outing. With only the race-winner of the non-qualifier feature given the option to transfer to the main event or pocket $400, Beard came in second behind David Seibers.
