Kyle Beard takes MSCCS opener at Jackson Motor Speedway
Kyle Beard continued his early season success by picking up a $3,000 victory on Saturday night behind the wheel of his Gary Beard Trucking No. 86 Mann Motorsports / Black Diamond Race Cars / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.
His latest conquest was achieved at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Miss.) in the season opener for the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Models.
“Jackson (Motor Speedway) has been good to us the past few years. That place just seems to fit my driving style. We got to the lead early and was able to drive away from the field to the win. My team gave me a great car,” Beard said. “We’re thinking about taking the Modified to Ark-La-Tex (Speedway) this weekend for the USMTS event. Just keeping an eye on the weather right now.”
Kyle Beard and the Mann Motorsports team returned to action on Saturday evening with a visit to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Miss.) to compete in the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) tour opener.
With 22 Late Models entered, Beard followed up the second-fastest qualifying effort with a third-place finish in the dash. After an early battle with front-row starter Brian Rickman, Kyle regained the lead on the 11th circuit and led the remainder of the 40-lapper to claim his second win of the season and a $3,000 payday.
He finished 4.545 seconds ahead of B.J. Robinson with Rickman, Mike Palasini Jr. and Neil Baggett completing the top-five finishers.

Beard is tentatively planning to take the Mann Motorsports No. 86 Modified into battle this weekend at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) in the 10th annual USMTS Cajun Clash. The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) weekend includes a $3,000-to-win program on Thursday, a $5,000-to-win slate on Friday, and a $10,000-to-win event on Saturday.
