Runner-up in Comp Cams visit to Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park
Returning to Comp Cams Super Dirt Series competition after more than a month off, Kyle Beard invaded Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park (Poplar Bluff, Mo.) on Friday afternoon for the $5,000-to-win event.
With a strong 35-car field on the premises, Beard followed up the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group by winning his heat race. Battling with the lead trio, Beard ran runner-up in the 40-lap main event. He trailed Mason Oberkramer while Billy Moyer Jr., Billy Moyer Sr., and BJ Robinson completed the Top-5.
For Saturday's portion of the weekend doubleheader, Beard nabbed the final transfer spot in his heat at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.) before a rain shower hit the track that forced officials to postpone the Hillbilly 40 event to August 17.
Beard currently leads the series points standings.
