Kyle Beard
Runner-up in Night One of Gumbo Nationals at Greenville Speedway
Sticking close to home to end out the month of September, Kyle Beard made his way to Greenville (Miss.) Speedway for the annual Gumbo Nationals.
With just 19 Late Models signed in, Beard was victorious in his heat race which placed him on the second row for the $10,000-to-win feature. Battling inside the Top-3, Beard settled for a runner-up finish behind race-winner Mike Palasini Jr. while Clay Fisher, Jarrett Stuckey and J.C. Waller completed the Top-5.
For Saturday's $10,000-to-win finale, Kyle fell backwards in his heat race which relegated him to a 15th-place starting position. Charging through the field in the 50-lap main event, Beard wound up inside the Top-5 in fourth.
